Sam played 4 years of college soccer at Madonna University where he was a two-time conference player of the year. Sam also holds both single-season and career records for goals scored at Madonna University. A 4-time college all-American, Sam played professionally after college for the Cincinnati Riverhawks (A-league, now USLChampionship), and got called up to train with the Columbus Crew of the MLS.
Sam has been coaching both High School and Club Soccer since 2004 and holds his USSF National "C" license. He is currently the Head coach of the Detroit City FC Women's First Team.
Sam resides in Canton, Mi with his wife Kristen and two children, Ava and Nicholas.
