Jamie Scott - Community Director

Soccer has been my passion for over 30 years. I have seen the game change from when I played 11v11 as a 7 year old. The days of Adidas purple slides and static stretching have been replaced with dynamic warm-ups and technology for cleats!

At age 7, I started playing soccer as a youth for the MI Hawks and ended my club career with another Livonia based club called Livonia Youth Soccer Club (LYSC). While playing for my age group Olympic Development Program team, I met the coach who I would later play for in college. I committed to and played for Madonna University (MU) in Livonia. I still hold the record at the university for most penalty kicks converted. During my four years at MU, I earned WHAC player of the week, St. Mary Franceline Leadership Award, All-Conference and All-Region honors.

My coaching career began when I was playing collegiate soccer. For me, coaching athletes is an opportunity to pass information and learned skills as well as infuse confidence. I have worked with novice to semi-pro soccer players. No matter the skill level, all athletes require challenge, positive motivation and opportunity. I look to empower each athlete to play to their potential. My coaching licensure includes a United States Soccer Federation “B” License, Youth National License and I have a Masters in Business and Science.

In 2010, I was hired at Lawrence Technological University (LTU) to begin their Women’s Soccer program. With financial discounts to offer, I established the first-ever Women’s Soccer program at LTU. I built the program to be self sustaining. It still thrives. I left this position to work exclusively with the Canton Soccer Club (CSC). I have been coaching with the Canton Soccer Club for nearly 20 years. At CSC, I have the opportunity to teach youth from ages 3 to 19. My goal is the same now, empowering players to compete at their highest potential.

On a personal note, my wife and I have worked in Canton Township for over 20 years. We enjoy residing in the township as well. She is an established 5th grade teacher at Workman Elementary. Our home is busy with our daughter, Lakin, who is now 3 years old and our youngest daughter, Lane, who is 6 months.
